Carriageway Repairs on the A38 Alrewas

Following a burst of an 18” water main, the A38 northbound at Alrewas was closed for essential carriageway repairs on behalf of South Staffs Water. This is a main arterial route so it was essential that impact to the local road infrastructure and access for emergency vehicles was maintained. Careful consideration was given to traffic so that it wasn’t diverted through the village.

Due to the duration of the scheme it was essential that we obtained local authority buy-in before any works began. This consisted of a full site visit, risk assessed CAD drawings, manufacture of bespoke signage (in-house), LA/NH consultation to negate rejections and management of the client consultation programme.

The works were successfully delivered with minimal delay to the local road network and no delays to emergency vehicles.
