Senior Credit Controller

We are currently seeking a Senior Credit Controller to join our team at Doocey Group. The Senior Credit Controller will be responsible for the debt associated with Commercial Strategic customers such as National Grid. The customer relationship with this client is paramount with a high invoice value. These key accounts are high in value and relationship managed by CRM within Service, these customers usually have a large portfolio of sites.

Doocey Group is a well-established for over 40 years, privately owned service provider within the civil engineering, multi utilities, traffic management and groundworks/construction industries. This is an exciting time to be joining the Group, as we are on a significant growth trajectory and diversifying our current portfolio. We work with clients such as National Grid and South Staffordshire Water, as well as local authorities.
The Role
Review all bank payments, ensuring that the BACS forms are completed correctly, returning if any amendments are required.
Deal with and resolved all adhoc costing queries both via telephone and email, alongside Costing Administrators, within the finance SLA’s.
Review all costing report’s which are received for all departments, for any errors, ensuring all amendments are made if required.
Review ‘Big Volume Report’ and amendments which is keyed in by the Costing Administrator’s.
Spot check month end close out figures for all companies, ensuring accuracy, in preparation for reporting to Managing Directors.
Investigate and contest any queries, or issues of all costings, and adjusting where information has been confirmed.
Attend and host costing meetings for each Company within the Group, every Thursday AM.
Ensure any manual commercial adjustments are made to all contracts after review meeting where costs are misplaced or are incorrect.
Compare NGED original forecast vs weekly reported vs actual to date, in preparation for reporting for Managing Director’s.
Review weekly, the monthly miscellaneous charges, allocating to relevant contract or recharging where necessary.
Compare weekly sub-contractor payments to sub-contractor costs and allocate to relevant contract after payments have been made.
Review Early Warning Notice’s (EWNs) paid have been reported, ensuring accuracy, and all errors are mitigated.
Review Gloucestershire sub-contractor payments match with what has been reported, in preparation for reporting to managing directors.
Log all sub-contractor upfront payments, ensuring they are claimed back and/or settled in full with the relevant sub-contractor.
Attend mandatory training courses as defined within the company training matrix.
Keep up to date with legislation and record ‘Continued Professional Development’ (CPD).

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) or similar qualification.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
GCSE’s Grade 4-9 (or equivalent) as a minimum.
